Mission
We worship the Divine Mother, and sacred Nature-based sciences that embody Her laws.
By aligning with Her, we restore balance and self-sovereignty, bringing power to the people.
The Narrative –
The UMA Society is a collective of heart, mind and spirit that comes together in community to share our love of the sacred Feminine and the Divine Mother Earth. At the UMA Society, we inspire courage, love and personal accountability to be the change we wish to see in the world, as well as to become accountable to our own consciousness in relationship to Her. Her story has been told in every religion and every indigenous culture, and has taken many, many forms. As the unifying principle of Reality, we know that She is here, there and everywhere. As the benevolent Mother, she will guide, give and teach us the way to serve Her.
The UMA Society enjoys a strong lineage base from the Vedas and Tantras of India, and the indigenous traditions of the Americas. Principle members of the UMA Society come from the established lineages of Siddha Yoga, the Brahma Kumaris, Vedanta and Kashmir Shaivism, as well as the Rasa Shastra pharmacies of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Vaidya Vishwanath in Chintaluru India, and Vaidya Mishra of Chandika. By offering classes, workshops, and retreats that empower the agency of the individual, we give guidance and direction towards Right Living with Her. Ayurveda and indigenous root culture wisdom offer an alternative perspective, and provide a clear path for how to live in accordance with the Mother’s laws. By infusing our lives with Bhakti (devotion) and by doing Seva (service), the UMA Society heals ourselves, our community and the Mother.
Our Activities – All activities currently take place at our physical location – 3830 Auburn Blvd, Suite C, Sacramento, CA 95821
These activities are and will be conducted by UMA Society staff members.
The activities are as follows:
To provide an Ayurvedic health clinic, learning center and store. The clinic will provide health consultations and therapies, by appointment. The learning center and store will provide access to Ayurvedic lifestyle, dietary knowledge, and herbal products, with regular (5 days/week, 8 hrs/day) office hours. This will take approximately 75% of our time, and will be funded by per service fees and membership fees. Addressing one’s own health is the most effective avenue for learning how to align with the Divine Mother and her manifestation.
To provide Seva services (reduced fee access) for Ayurvedic care to those who cannot afford it. This will take approximately 10% of our time, and will be funded by donation. These services are especially important given the labor-intensive nature of Ayurvedic therapies.
To provide weekly classes, gatherings, workshops and group opportunities that explore teachings and practices from ancient Vedic and Indigenous traditions. Our current offerings include the Living In Reality Series, Astrology, Ayurvedic Mentorship and Consultation, Yoga and Asana classes, and Cooking Classes. These will primarily be offered on evenings and weekends, will take approximately 7% of our time, and will be funded by fees and donations. These offerings provide access to the vast realm of sacred Nature-based sciences.
To provide a Temple Space to worship God and Goddess in all their forms, and to practice Yoga (meditation), Bhakti (Devotion), Jnana (Knowledge), and to do our Sadhana (Spiritual Practices) in a Sanga (Spiritual family). Open 8 hours 6 days per week to our members. This worship is the most direct channel to fulfill the mission of the UMA Society.
To provide an open Yoga and Asana Space for embodiment practices like Yoga, Asana, Pranayama. Open 4 hours 6 days per week to our members. Embodiment practices are essential elements of Goddess worship.
To provide Holistic Financial Coaching, bringing the principles of the Mother to financial coaching, empowering healthy relationships to money and service in the world. This service will be funded by fee or donation, or by Seva services. This will take approximately 1% of our time.
To provide Food For Friends – A community of people supporting each other to cook and eat for our Doshas and our best health.
